MY SUNNY MAAD WITH NOMINATIONS FOR THE CZECH LION AND THE CRITICS’ AWARD

Our co-production film My Sunny Maad, directed by Michaela Pavlátová, has received 4 nominations for the annual Czech Film and Television Academy Czech Lion Awards. It will compete for awards for the Best Animated Film, the Best Screenplay, the Best Music and the Best Sound Design. The winner will be announced at a ceremony to be held on March 5, 2022 in Prague. At the same time, our film will also compete for the Czech Film Critics Awards in the categories of Best Film and Best Audiovisual Achievement. The awards will be presented on February 5, 2022 in Theatre Archa in Prague. The complete list of nominees can be found here.

Currently, the voting of the American Film Academy AMPAS is still underway, which will decide on the nominations of films in the Best Animated Feature Film category, for which our film is also in the running. The list of nominees will be announced on February 8, 2022.

My Sunny Maad is the story of Helena aka Herry, who leaves Prague to marry her classmate Nazir in Kabul for love. Apart from the vision of a loving future, Herra’s large family from the Czech Republic is also drawn by the desire for new experiences in an exotic environment. The film is an adaptation of the book Frishta by Czech journalist Petra Procházková.

My Sunny Maad is a co-production with the Czech Republic and France. The production of the film was financially supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, the Czech Film Fund, the French CNC and Eurimages.
