MICHAELA PAVLÁTOVÁ NOMINATED FOR THE DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR   

The director Michaela Pavlátová received a nomination for Director of the Year for the film My Sunny Maad from the Cartoon I. Along with her, Florenc Miailhe is nominated for The Crossing, Jonas Poher Rasmussen for Flee and Julien Fournet for The Adventures of Pil. The winners will be announced on March 10 in Bordeaux during the Cartoon Movie Forum.

My Sunny Maad is the story of Helena aka Herry, who leaves Prague to marry her classmate Nazir in Kabul for love. Apart from the vision of a loving future, Herra’s large family from the Czech Republic is also drawn by the desire for new experiences in an exotic environment. The film is an adaptation of the book Frishta by Czech journalist Petra Procházková.

My Sunny Maad is a co-production with the Czech Republic and France. The production of the film was financially supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, the Czech Film Fund, the French CNC and Eurimages.
